Seibert and Rice is a New Jersey company that imports the finest terra cotta pots in the world from Impruneta, Italy. You've seen their work on Martha Stewart and The Victory Garden...the pots are pieces of sculpture for the garden, made of thick, rich terra cotta, some from original molds from the 1800's.
Now local designer Richard Hartlage of AHBL in Tacoma has gotten into the act with some new designs which will debut this summer. Hartlage's designs are both classic and fresh; his new line is called "Birds, Bees, Fleurs, & Trees", with dogwood blossoms, swallows, a little quail sitting at the base of a pot, and a fat globe of a pot studded with buzzing bees.
Here's a preview - the collection will be available from Seibert and Rice this July....

Classic flora and fauna motif, he's talented. Good job procuring the sketches.

they may be very nice pots, but oh such a pretentious label for them....fleurs? Are we americans so desperate for culture and status we have to resort to French words? I guess so. Sorry I couldn't resist putting my two cents' in.

are those Hartlage's own sketches?

Hi Patrick,
They're either Richard's sketches or done by one of his staff at AHBL....not sure which...
