At 10 a.m. this Saturday, this very cool new urban park on Queen Anne hill will be formally dedicated. The John Hay Chorus will perform at the dedication, and Seattle Audubon members will be on hand to talk about birding.
Thomas C. Wales Park is just above Dexter Avenue at 2401 6th Ave North, a perfect rest spot as you walk or bike between Fremont and Queen Anne or South Lake Union.
Check out the innovative use of gabion walls (wire cages filled with rock). Portland artist Adam Kuby designed five tall "Quarry Rings", in consultation with Seattle Audubon, to provide habitat for birds and bats. Between native trees, shrubs and grasses, a big boggy area, and nesting areas, this very urban park will become a wildlife sanctuary in contrast to its gravel pit past.

The new urban park is looking like a beautiful place to visit all time..http://www.vivamagonline.com/index.php I'm very much inspired to visit this article.. I'm gonna download this picture and set as my wallpaper..

Greetings from the Columbia Gorge. I read your article on about Shirley Collins's garden in Organic Gardening. Fantastic! She is quite an inspiration. I also liked her garden fence. Unfortunately, there are only 2 shots of it in the article. If you have more, would you be willing to email them to me (frluke.hartung at gmail.com)? I'm getting ready to put in a new garden fence and would like a prototype to work from. Thanks!

Thanks for the info. I didn't know there is a Thomas C. Wales park in Seattle.
