The E.B. Dunn Historic Garden Trust invites you to a Summer Faire on the great lawn - how many gardens inside the Seattle city limits have a great lawn???
The vast expanse of green, surrounded by historic trees, is only one of the garden's many charms that'll be on display this coming Saturday, August 25th, 4-7 p.m. The hydrangeas, maples, and especially the dahlias and tropicals in the exuberant Curator's Garden, created by Glenn Withey and Charles Price, will be in full summer glory.
As if the garden itself isn't enough, the Summer Faire will feature circus performers, acrobats, jugglers, hula hoopers, strolling fiddlers, jazz, and "new circus arts"(?).
It sounds like the Dunn Gardens is hosting an al fresco Cirque du Soleil for our enjoyment...
Oh, and you'll be fed as extravagantly as you'll be entertained, at a Botanical Bar Station, including lavender ice tea and berry rose sangria...Glenn and Charles will be there creating special cocktails. Other stations include "Spreading the Thyme" with gazpacho, prawns, bruscheta, crostini....the Fire Side Station with grilled summer vegetables, candied BBQ baby leeks and pork sliders....well, you get the idea. The entire evening will be unique, delicious and staged outdoors in one of Seattle's most historic and beautiful gardens.
Help support a Seattle treasure while celebrating summer in high style. Reserve your tickets ($100 per person) at www.dunngardens.org or call 206-362-0933.
* Please note that only the portion of your contribution that exceeds the value of any gifts or services you receive is tax-deductible. The estimated fair market value of your donation is $50.00.
