You can count on Plant Talk partner B&D Lilies in Port Townsend for good lily planting advice, since owners Dianna and Bob Gibson live and garden in the same climate we do.
"We can plant any time the soil is not frozen in the PNW, so not a problem," says Dianna. And if you order from B&D before December 10, and type 'Valerie' under comments during checkout - Dianna will toss in a free packet of her purple poppy seeds. And these poppies are seriously dark and gorgeous....
Take a look at B&D's catalog - how can you resist adding a few of these extravagant, fragrant, yet easy-to-grow beauties?Just a sampling to get you salivating...
'Rio Negro'...
'Copper Angel', one of my favorites...
The ethereal 'Silver Angel'
And the nearly impossible to resist 'Flashpoint'

Good Morning,
This is the first time I have been to your blog. Very nice. I was wondering if you knew about the "Sortaculture" event that is hosted by Everett Parks and Recreation each June? I looked through your categories and did not see it. It is a garden art event with about 75% garden art and 25% specialty nurseries. I am a ceramic artist and have participated for several years - I think you would like it and was not sure if you had ever attended.
I look forward to following your blog - Thanks
