It's Flower and Garden Show week - I hope to see you at my "Indispensible Plants" talk about best bulbs - which are mostly the three seasonal waves of bloom my little garden is built around - daffodils (only a few weeks away), allium in May/June, with a cascade of chorus-girl lilies July into September. Of course there'll be detours into crocus and trout lilies, Pacific coast iris and fritillaries...come learn why bulbs are the best bet for easy-care, extravagantly blooming gardens (with bulbs, that's not an oxymoron...).
A little preview of the Indispensable Panel - 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 21, in the Rainier Room...
I'll talk about all of the above....and I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't hear, too, about this double flowering trillium, because Kelly Dodson and Sue Milliken of Far Reaches Farm are on the Indispensibles panel, and they sell this beauty...Trillium grandiflorum ‘Flore Pleno’, photo courtesy of Nancy Heckler...
My next post will be from the floor of the Convention Center tomorrow afternoon after judging is completed - I'll send you some sneak preview photos and fill you in on what's new/great/not-to-be-missed...

Drat...we're going on Saturday :-(
