In this day of doppler radar and endless weather forecasting, don't you love it when the weather can still throw a surprising punch? I woke up about 3 a.m. to stars and moonlight, and went back to sleep thinking about gardening today, finishing the clean up, getting my my sweet peas and lettuces planted.
I woke up again to the "swoosh" of snow sliding off the roof. It's a real snowstorm in Langley - the sky socked in soft gray, and two inches on the ground by 7:30 a.m. It's not letting up....our January snowstorm arrives two days after the equinox. I've lived in or near Seattle my whole life and can't remember this kind of serious snowstorm after the first week of March, ever. Thank you weather Gods for reminding us who is boss...and that our best laid plans are for naught....now, Bridget and I are going out to play in the snow. Better March than never....
View of Langley from my upstairs window
A snow-bedecked coral bark maple and snow cushions on the chaises...
A soaking wet Bridget was so startled when she put her first paw out the door this morning...
It's getting deeper...

Deeply disturbing- sorry your garden had to deal with that.

All I can say is, WoW!! Where did that come from?? It really is pretty though and will be fun to play in one more time! :) Look at it this way...just a little more moisture for the gardens, lawns, fields, forests, etc. to soak up before the dry months ahead...or should I say dry month?
Enjoy!
PS. Looks like Briget will be enjoying herself today! :)
