Snow for the almost-first-day of winter...Mother Nature is reminding us to slow down, appreciate the quiet of deep winter. I'm going to listen to her, and take a blog hiatus over the holidays to walk around Greenlake and in the Witt Winter Garden, to take yoga, to rest, to read, maybe to finally get my tulips planted, and to spend time with my husband, kids, and what sometimes seems like a vast richness of friends and relatives.
I wish all of the above for all of you, although perhaps not quite so many relatives (if one of my relatives is reading this, you can be sure it's the other side of the family I have in mind).
After my digital detox, I'll be back early in the new year to share garden ideas, plots, plans and news, and hope to hear more from all of you in 2014, too.
In the meantime, may all seasonal joys be yours...my fingers are crossed for peace, quiet, stars, more snow, good novels (have you read "The Goldfinch"??) and abundant hellebore bloom to get us through the darkest days of winter.
Happy Holidays from our home to yours....
